Director of Children and Youth Ministries
Jason Ault joined the Hillside staff in June 2017. He is no stranger to Hillside though, becoming a member of the church in 2011 and also attending the church as a young child. Jason has also served as an Elder and sings in the church choir as part of the Hillside congregation.
Jason brings a wealth of church life experience to this role, having grown up as the son of a minister. Summer church camp was an incredibly important part of his faith development as a youth, so now as an adult, he works camps every summer as a director or counselor to help give back and minister to the next generation of youth. His goal for Hillside’s children and youth is simple: “to help the young people grow their faith, to build tight-knit friendships with each other…and to have fun in the process.”
Jason earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wichita State University. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, attending sporting events (especially for his quasi-obnoxious fandom of Wichita State men’s basketball and Denver Broncos football), listening to and performing music, and spending time with loved ones. Jason and his beloved wife Jennifer were married at Hillside in June 2012. They are the proud parents of their son, Denver William Ault, who was born in March 2018.
Wykeemah Chumley has been a member of Hillside Christian Church for many years. Following her retirement from management at ATT, she decided to give some time to working with children in the congregation. This was especially important to her since she had a granddaughter growing up in the congregation.
She discovered that she really has a passion for working with children and youth. She may be retired, but that hasn’t slowed her down, working to improve ministry to our congregation’s young people. She has been the right hand of three youth ministers and all admit she is invaluable in this ministry. She gives oversight to the Nursery and helps with VBS and children’s productions.
Wykeemah is married to Lloyd, who willingly shares her with Hillside.
Sherry and her husband, Chris, relocated to Kechi from Chanute, Kansas in June 2017 and she joined our staff as Office Administrator in July 2017. Sherry and Chris have two grown children, Sara and Jennifer, both of whom live in Wichita.
Sherry enjoys being with her family, reading and window shopping, with an occasional purchase thrown in now and then. She is happy to be a new member of the Wichita community and is looking forward to the new experiences not available in her former small community.
Susan V. Germann is the Administrative Clerk and has held that position since December 2007. She is a graduate of Wichita State University with a BBS in accounting. She grew up in southwestern Kansas. She is married to David, and they have two lovely children, Marissa and Jared.
Susan is a member of Hillside Christian Church where she and her family are active. She loves going to ball games, track and field and all the sporting events her children drag her into.
Jill Miller grew up the daughter of a United Methodist minister. She is married to Bruce and absolutely adores her grandchildren. Jill has very much been a part of the business world and knows her way around computers and websites. She manages the congregation’s web page and all social media. Jill works to keep our web page up to date, keep our facebook account flowing, and care for other internet connections for the church. She lives a busy life but makes this sacrifice for her church.
Lois is a longtime member of Hillside, joining in 1982 after her marriage to Barney. They raised three daughters, Samantha, Sarah and Megan who were active at Hillside as they grew. She recently retired after 41 years as a nurse, spending most of her career at Wesley, working in both the NICU and Quality departments. Lois enjoys being Nana to Kaylee, Olivia and Henry, traveling with Barney in his small plane, rock climbing and hiking with Sarah, quilting , cooking, volunteering at Hillside, in the office and teaching the preschool class, activities with the Pilgrim Sunday School class, singing in the choir, reading, gardening and watching TV.
